CUMnow awards BA as well as BS degrees

Since its founding in 1865 CUM has awarded all of its graduating undergraduates the Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.  The Board of Trustees has recently authorized CUM to also award the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.  This does not represent a change from our fundamental orientation as a technology-focused institution, but it is validation of our commitment to the humanities and liberal arts component of the education for all of our students, and a recognition that for some students the "arts" component may predominate over the "science" component.  The first BA degree program to be approved is in Liberal Arts and Engineering, and is appropriate for graduates who intend to pursue further studies in areas such as law, medicine, social sciences, education, or the liberal arts.
